JAG NATIONAL TASK FORCES

Task Forces are mobilized from time to time to provide state and local involvement and secure input and feedback on key issues and projects.  The intent is to share ownership and gain commitment from JAG State Organizations and Local Affiliates to national initiatives.

Task Force Chairmen are asked to commit about 5 hours per month to their Task Force Program of Work.

Task Force members should have an expertise and experience related to the Task Force focus and be willing to devote about 3 hours per month to the Task Force Program of Work.

JAG Staff sets up conference calls, takes minutes, prepares documents, and secures information requested by the Task Force Chairman and members.

The minutes and supportive materials for the Task Forces are placed on the web site for CSA members to review and provide recommendations.

The National Task Forces include:

NATIONAL TECHNOLOGY TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The preparation of a JAG Technology Plan for the national organization and a State/Local Technology Plan for JAG State Organizations and Local Affiliates.
  • The conversion of the Electronic National Data Management System (e-NDMS) to a web-based architecture.
  • The identification of data bits and report formats for e-NDMS based upon feedback from state and local leaders.
  • The roll-out of e-NDMS including staff development and technical assistance to JAG State Organizations and Local Affiliates.

NTS TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The general sessions for NTS
  • The workshops and presenters for NTS
  • The special events at NTS - VIP reception, network social, etc.
  • The workshops and presenters for Pre-NTS

NATIONAL MARKETING TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The development of videos
  • The development of PowerPoint presentations
  • The development of spots for television and radio (based on the videos)
  • The development of print materials

NATIONAL CURRICULUM TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The completion of the National Curriculum Modules
  • The development of PowerPoint presentations to support targeted modules (1-37)
  • The completion of an index to locate activities within the 86 modules
  • The review of modules for the purpose of updating, correcting, expanding

NATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARDS EVENTS TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The solicitation of award nominees from CSA representatives
  • The review of the agendas for the reception and luncheon and recommendations
  • The review of the agenda for the Joint Board Meeting and recommendations
  • The encouragement of states to take advantage of the splitting of donations
  • The staffing of NLA events with state/local staff where appropriate

NATIONAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The planning of the NSLC
  • The identification of competitive events to be offered
  • The selection of event personnel and judges for national events
  • The identification of prospective NSLC facilitators for leadership teams
  • The review of leadership activities and recommendations
  • The evaluation of the NSLC and recommendations for future NSLCs

NATIONAL MODEL BOOKS TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The revision of national handbooks, videos, e-learning courses, PowerPoint presentations, curriculum modules, etc.
  • The continuous improvement of the four applications of the JAG Model - Middle School, Multi-Year, Senior Year, and Out-of-School Program Applications

NATIONAL E-LEARNING TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The review of the e-Learning Basic JAG Model Course and recommendations
  • The offering of 'credit' for course completion - college credit or CEUs
  • The identification of mentors for course participants
  • The delivery of portions of the course using web-based conferencing facilities

NATIONAL JAG WEB SITE TASK FORCE

The focus shall be to monitor and provide input and feedback regarding:

  • The review of the web site map
  • The use of the web site for national purposes
  • The use of the web site for state purposes
  • The use of the web site for local purposes
  • The use of ListServs, Bulletin Boards and Chat Rooms for specialized groups - CSA, Managers and Supervisors, Senior Specialists, Multi-Year Specialists, Dropout Recovery Specialists, e-NDMS Coordinators, Curriculum Coordinators, Site Reviewers, and National Trainers
  • The placement of all JAG Model Books online for downloading
  • The identification of online classroom management tools that would be of value to Specialists - attendance book, appointment book, etc.
  • The development of home pages for JAG State/Local Affiliates and hosted on or linked to www.jag.org
  • The development of home pages for specialized groups to provide information and downloading capabilities
  • The development of components that will engage members and alumni to take advantage of the resources, i.e. links to web sites, career center, scholarship information, job opportunities, etc.
